The Silver Hood is constructed with shiny, silver-gray fibers to reflect sunlight and reduce heat absorption while the middle and inner layers of black provides UPF40, blocking 98.5% UVA and UVB rays.
- Shield against UV-rays for outdoor workers who are exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time(bridge/tank/tower painting, concrete cutting, constructions, oil rig & pipeline maintenance, high-rise window washing, and ship deck duties).
- A practical protective (survival) head cover for desert hiking, saltwater fishing or boating (blocking salt particles and UV-rays).
There are two styles: The full-cover hood provides maximum coverage, forms air-pocket around nose and mouth and a tight fit around wearer's eyes. Many workers have found that wearing our hood under a respirator provides an additional layer of barrier and a soft cushion of comfort and reduces gapping.
However, if it interferes with the fit, try the open-face style which eye opening can be pulled down to allow the respirator direct contact with the skin. To change the Full-Cover to Open-Face, simply take scissors and clip off the nose portion prior to wearing.
