Our General Safety Hoods provide an effective barrier against particles.

The hood securely covers the entire head, face and neck with a comfortable form-fit which becomes an effective isolation layer next to the skin. Since no air flows through the hood, airborne particles rarely penetrate through to the wearer. The ultrafine intertexture openings allow body heat and perspiration moisture to escape which keeps heads cool for extended wear.

When tested at a flow rate of 1 cubic foot per minute, their structures show a particle filtration efficiency of 80% against 1 µm particles, which is similar to that of dust masks. Please note, our hoods are not for replacing the mask or respirator required by OSHA.

With the hydrostatic pressure resistance of 20 cm H₂O, the triple-layer structures of general safety hoods are useful in blocking some liquid splashes.
